Easter Fun

Easter is just around the corner and there’s lots of Easter fun to enjoy during your stay at Burradon Farm.  It’s the perfect opportunity to get family and friends together and enjoy the longer days and brighter weather.

From Easter egg hunts to pantos, train rides to museums, den building to discovering the beautiful Northumberland coast, read on for some great Easter fun ideas!

If you love the outdoors you will be spoilt for choice during your stay.  Why not get outside and chase away the last of the winter chills.  Enjoy countryside walks, fresh seaside air or family-friendly fun at one of the North East’s many great attractions.

The Alnwick Garden has an amazing array of things to see and do.  Marvel at the beautiful Cherry Blossom orchard and mesmerising Grand Cascade.  Get lost in the Bamboo Labyrinth and discover spell-binding water sculptures in the Serpent Garden.  Don’t forget to visit their treehouse, one of the world’s largest tree houses!

Explore the Quarry Garden at Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens and admire its spectacular rhododendron display.  Or discover Wallington’s historical house, woodlands, walled garden and Easter activities for all of the family to enjoy. 

Howick Hall Garden & Arboretum is a delight to see and is full of cheerful daffodils carpeting the grounds from March – May.  

Visit Seaton Delaval Hall where visitors can enjoy open spaces, a great café, beautiful gardens and family friendly activities throughout the year.

Seven Stories – the National Centre for Children’s Books has lots of great experiences on offer this Easter.  From craft sessions, fairy tales and storytelling to interactive performances – your kids will love it!

Why not take a trip to the theatre?  See The Ugly Duckling at Northern Stage or prepare to be wowed by Titanic the Musical at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal.  Everyone loves a panto – why not try the Easter Panto at Whitley Bay Playhouse!

Hop on a heritage steam train ride at Stephenson Railway or join a Teddy Bear’s picnic at Tanfield Railway.

Head to an art gallery or museum in Newcastle city centre – there’s lots to choose from!  The Biscuit Factory, Discovery Museum, Hancock Museum and Shipley Art Galleries offer fun Easter activities for all ages.  

Sunderland’s National Glass Centre offers glass fusing activities and demonstrations, glass painting and sandblasting for all the family.

Northumberland’s Woodhorn Museum displays cutting-edge arts and cultural exhibits as well as a fun-filled events programme.

The Bowes Museum and Beamish Museum are also fantastic days out for all of the family and favourites amongst our guests.

And of course there are lots of Easter Egg hunts to choose from!  Why not try Whitehouse Farm or Tynemouth Park.

English Heritage, the National Trust and Northumberland National Park run great events and exciting activities throughout the year.  Whatever your age or interest there’s something for everyone to enjoy in the North East and Northumberland.
