Parkrun is a free, weekly community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or simply cheer others on!

If running a 5k on a Saturday morning is your thing, you’re in the right place to find out more.

Burradon Farm is in a super‑central location in North Tyneside, giving you easy access to a fantastic choice of local parkruns.

All of the parkruns below are within a 10–20 minute drive of Burradon Farm Holiday Cottages:

Local Parkruns near Burradon Farm

  • Rising Sun Country Park– Benton
    Entirely on trail paths, with an on‑site café and toilets.
  • Blyth Links– Blyth
    A scenic coastal route with beautiful sea views and plenty of nearby cafés.
  • Whitley Bay
    A two‑lap course along Whitley Bay Links, passing the iconic Spanish City Dome. Lots of amenities close by.
  • Newcastle Town Moor– Newcastle upon Tyne
    A single large loop taking in Exhibition Park and the area behind Wylam Brewery.
  • Jesmond Dene
    A woodland course with steep hills and steps.

Parkruns a little further afield (around 25 minutes away)

  • Carlisle Park– Morpeth
    A mix of park laps and pretty riverside paths. Ideal for combining your run with a browse around Morpeth’s shops or a relaxed brunch.
  • Druridge Bay – Druridge Bay Country Park, Morpeth
    A beautiful lakeside course starting and finishing at the Visitor Centre. Close to the coast — perfect for a post‑parkrun paddle.
