Halloween 2025 promises to be spookier than ever in the North East!  There’s lots of Halloween fun to be had for all of the family, read on for just a few ….

This year is all about Dracula at Seaton Delaval Hall!   The basement will come alive with theatrical installations and immersive soundscapes, exploring vampires, bats, and the story behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula.  Or join a night time experience on an immersive walk-through experience, complete with scares, surprises and ghostly effects.  All followed by a well-earned marshmallow by the firepit.

Prepare yourself for the spine-chilling tale of the Alnwick Vampire at Alnwick Castle.  Once a resident, he defied death to terrorise the town, and 900 years later, his tale is still being retold.

Experience the world’s largest play structure Lilidorei at Alnwick Gardens become Spookydorei!   Come along dressed up as your favourite Halloween character and unlock the spooky stories of Lilidorei with the Story Keepers…if you’re brave enough!

Whitehouse Farm has a great choice of fang-tastic toddler takeover events this Halloween! Join the Messy Monster Mash, pumpkin party or Terrifying Tots Halloween Disco perfect for little ghouls!

Enjoy a feast of frightfully fun live shows and exciting experiments at the Life Science Centre.  Check out The Anatomy of a Dinosaur Show where you can meet delightfully spooky dinosaurs. Get hands-on with slime, dust off your best dance moves at the Spooky Disco and discover what yucky things your eyes can’t see on the Feely Wall!

Why not visit Brocksbushes epic pumpkin patch and pick yourself a pumpkin!  There are all shapes and sizes to choose from and plenty of pumpkin related photo opportunities too!  Pumpkin carving is returning for 2025 – roll up your sleeves and get creative!

Gather your little monsters for a ghoulishly good day out at Belsay Hall.  Follow the quest to solve creepy clues and gather round to listen to spooky stories. Join their spooky Victorian-themed garden walk where you’ll discover hidden nooks and mysterious corners.

Follow the famous weird and wonderful ‘Scarycrows trail’ around the villages at Ford & Etal, awarding them scores as you go.

Why not get locked in a room this Halloween at Escape Key, your portal to the ominous and unknown.  Experience one of their spine-tingling escape rooms and delve into hair-raising mysteries that lurk in the shadows. Uncover the secrets of the Witch or escape the horrors of the deadly plague!

Explore the ancient passageways and chambers at Newcastle Castle.   Or give yourself the heebie-jeebies on their Ghost Tour on Friday 17th October.  Wander through echoing chambers, winding staircases and shadowy passageways as your guide uncovers the grizzly tales and sinister secrets hidden within the medieval walls.

Visit the Discovery Museum in Newcastle for its creepy museum trail and spooky silent disco.  Get creative with flying bats or horrifying hands craft sessions!

Tyneside Cinema is renowned for its epic adult-only Halloween Movie All Nighter on 25th October.  Featuring 5 blood chilling titles of terror it’s a must for any horror film fanatic.

NorthumBOOland Zoo will be hosting a spooky halloween trail in the Zoo – at night – filled with shock horrors, hair-raising delights and nail biting frights.
