One time cowshed (with resident Swallows), Swallow Cottage is now a lovely two bedroomed property with open plan living area and spacious wet room. It is graded 4* Gold by VisitEngland and is fully accessible in line with the National Accessible Scheme – Mobility, please see our Access Statement for more information.

  • Swallow Cottage was exceptional - everything works, spotless and cosy, a lovely stay. We would recommend Whitely Bay, Weetslade Country Park (you can walk from here, its a lovely place to picnic and the dog will love it!) Don't leave without visiting Cragside, it's a special place.   • My brother and I took our 86 year old mother to visit relatives and needed a cottage that provided facilities for elderly or a disabled person. Our minimum requirement was a walk in shower and hand rails. To our surprise Swallow Cottage at Burradon Farm offered more than this. We were delighted with the cottage, the friendliness of the owners and how convenient it was to family and shops in the Newcastle area. The cottage was well appointed and fitted out.
