Ouseburn

The summer has arrived and we can certainly recommend a wander through Ouseburn.  Once an industrial hub, Ouseburn is now a hip residential area clustered around the Ouseburn River.  The entrance to Victoria Tunnel, a 19th-century coal wagon route, is the starting point for underground tours, and the area has plenty of things for families looking for an afternoon out:  Ouseburn Farm, with gardens and farm animals, Seven Stories, the National Centre for Children’s Books, and the Biscuit Factory Art Gallery, as well as cafes, pubs and micro-breweries to enjoy.  Or simply follow the Ouseburn along to the River Tyne to discover Newcastle’s infamous Quayside!
